Hunting and habitat loss nearly drove the crane to extinction in the 1600s, and years of conservation work are finally starting to pay off. The eggs will be guarded around the clock. Conservationists on the project aren't sure if the eggs are viable or not, but if they are they should be hatching around the end of the week.
